PENGARUH METODE GASING TERHADAP MINAT BELAJAR DAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP OPERASI BILANGAN BULAT

Mathematics learning at Sirajun Jadid Islamic Junior High School in Pontianak is still ineffective because it relies on lectures and assignments. Students tend to be passive, such as remaining silent when the teacher asks questions or not responding to their friends' answers, resulting in monotonous learning and difficulty in understanding the material. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the GASING method could influence the learning interest and understanding of integer operations among seventh-grade students at SMP Islam Sirajun Jadid Pontianak. This study used a quantitative research method and a pre-experimental design in the form of a one-shot case study. The research sample was determined using purposive sampling and consisted of seventh-grade students in the odd semester at SMP Islam Sirajun Jadid Pontianak, comprising three classes: VIIa, VIIb, and VIIc. The class with 37 students was class VIIc, which had 30 students. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires and essay tests. The data analysis techniques used were hypothetical statistical tests and t-tests. Based on the analysis, the following conclusions were drawn: 1) student learning interest was in the high category (95%), 2) the t-test yielded a result of t_count≥t_table or 5.021≥1.688, which is in accordance with the testing criteria, meaning that the GASING method has an effect on the understanding of integer operations. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the GASING method has an effect on learning interest and understanding of integer operation concepts.

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk melihat apakah metode GASING dapat meningkatkan minat belajar dan pemahaman konsep operasi bilangan bulat siswa kelas VIIc SMP Islam Sirajun Jadid Pontianak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan sampel 37 siswa. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket dan tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji statistik hipotetik, uji t, dan uji korelasi product moment. Berdasarkan analisis diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa: 1) minat belajar siswa masuk dalam kategori tinggi (95%), 2) pada uji-t di dapatkan hasil atau sesuai dengan kriteria pengujian maka metode GASING berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep operasi bilangan bulat.
