Abstract

This research was conducted at the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police, using the type of research, namely empirical normative. The data collection methods used were document studies, field surveys and interviews using qualitative descriptive analysis. The research aims (1) to find out the investigation of corruption in the jurisdiction of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police (2) to find out the obstacles in the implementation of corruption investigations in the jurisdiction of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police. The results of the study (1) Factors that hinder the implementation of corruption crime investigations include: a. Legal factors themselves, b. Law enforcement factors, c. Supporting facilities or infrastructure factors, d. Community factors, e. Cultural factors, f. Geographical area factors, (2) Investigations carried out in the jurisdiction of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police carried out by the High Prosecutor's Office and the Resort Police. (a). In carrying out the investigation process, the procedures carried out by investigators are the same as for other crimes, namely in accordance with the regulations in the Criminal Procedure Code, namely from the investigation stage to the transfer of cases to the Public Prosecutor. It's just that in conducting an examination of corruption crimes, investigators need other supporting sciences, namely the Criminal Psychology approach to dig up the necessary information from the suspect. (b) In conducting a case title, the police invite the prosecutor's office and also the BPKB. In the Prosecutor's Office, a case title is known as "exposure" which is usually carried out only among prosecutors, the BPKB will be included if the case being handled requires an audit from the BPKP. (c). In the prosecutor's office, the reporter, investigator and public prosecutor in corruption cases are carried out by the same person, so that later there will be no term for back and forth cases from the community. While the police's authority is only to conduct investigations. (d) In several cases where corruption cases are carried out by state officials, there must be a permit that must be completed before conducting an investigation..
