Abstract

The objectives of the study were: 1). To determine the factors causing sexual crimes against children. 2). To determine the legal process for perpetrators of sexual crimes against children. This study was conducted in Konawe Regency, precisely at the Konawe Police, using the type of research, namely empirical normative. The data collection method used was document study, field surveys and interviews using qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen: 1). The factors causing sexual crimes against children were that initially the suspect picked up the victim at school on the grounds that he would take the victim home, but on the way to the victim's house, the suspect turned his vehicle towards the forest then when he arrived at his destination (forest) the suspect had intercourse with the victim, in addition to the above, the reported person also had intercourse with his victims in turns by forcing the victim and giving money to the victim. 2). The legal process against perpetrators of sexual crimes against children in the form of intercourse, indecent acts, and sexual exploitation of children, the Police and Unaaha District Court have carried out and followed up on the police report, then processed based on the crime that occurred, then called, arrested, detained, confiscated, listened to the statements of the reporter (victim), witnesses, and the defendant's statement, then transferred to the Prosecutor's Office after it was complete (P 21), then sentenced/imprisoned or fined.
