Abstract

This study aims to determine the causal factors that cause fights between residents in Kambu Village, Kendari City. To determine and analyze the efforts made by the police to prevent fights between residents in Kambu Village. The type of research carried out is field research, namely researchers go directly to the research location to collect data by conducting interviews with authorities and the community, in addition, this study also uses a library research method, namely reviewing various reading materials / books related to the title of the study. The results achieved in this study indicate that the causal factors for fights between residents in Kambu Village are the offense of group members, misunderstandings, revenge, alcohol, a sense of solidarity, social inequality / economic factors, land ownership and things that can cause division, such as the Pilkada. Efforts made by the police in dealing with fights between residents are: 1) Pre-emptive efforts are efforts or attempts to prevent crime from the beginning or early on, carried out by the police, where the action is more psychological or moral in nature to invite or appeal to the community to obey all applicable norms; 2) Preventive efforts are efforts made with the aim of preventing the emergence of crime by controlling and supervising actions, or creating a conducive atmosphere to reduce and then suppress so that crime does not develop in the community; and 3) Repressive efforts are efforts or actions taken directly to eradicate crime and violence such as assault by taking action so that the perpetrators are deterred and do not repeat their crimes.
