Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the status of soil fertility that had been struck by lightning in Labibia Village, Mandonga District, and Purirano Village, Kendari District, Kendari City. This research was conducted in November 2020 using a survey method at locations that had been struck by lightning. Soil samples (topsoil) were taken horizontally at various distances, namely 0 m, 5 m, 10 m, and 15 m from the tree stands that had been struck by lightning. Parameters of soil fertility analyzed included C-Organic, available P, CEC, KB, and total K. The results obtained showed that at the research location in Labibia Village, the soil fertility status was in the low (R) class, while in Purirano Village, the soil fertility status was medium (S). Parameters that were limiting factors for soil fertility status were low total K and base saturation. Other factors that affected soil fertility status, especially in the research location of Labibia sub-district, were topography with slopes above 45% and relatively shallow effective soil depth.
