Abstract

Abstract: Spatial studies are very important to know the distribution and characteristics and accessibility of seaweed cultivation for the government and people of Buton Regency. However, the lack of knowledge of the community and the government, so that in Buton District does not have a distribution map and information about the characteristics of cultivation and accessibility. This study aims to: (1) determine the distribution of seaweed cultivation; (2) know the characteristics of the land and the accessibility of seaweed in the West Coast region of Buton Regency. Data analysis methods used in this study are: (1) digitization method on screan; (2) IDW (Inverse Distance Weighted) method for land characteristics and interviews for accessibility. The results of the study are: (1) the distribution of seaweed in the coastal areas of Buton Regency around 44.55 ha. Seaweed is spread in Barangka Village and Kamelanta Village; (2) accessibility is very good, namely in Barangka and Kamelanta villages. For land characteristics seen from temperature values ranging from 31-34oC, sea brightness values are between 4-13 meters, current speed values range from 8 - 38 cm/s, wave values range from 3-40 cm, depth values range between 6- 18 m, and salinity values range from 22-32 ppt. The land characteristics data based on the feasibility parameters of the West coast area of Buton Regency can be said to be suitable for seaweed cultivation. Keywords: Distribution, Seaweed, Spatial
