Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between back togok flexibility with the ability to throw in football games for 2018 students of of Physical Education and Recreation department. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Halu Oleo University, with a total of 95 people consisting of 77 boys and 18 girls. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling technique which is based on gender considerations obtained by 77 students and then based on the skill of playing football obtained by 30 students into a research sample. The instrument used to measure the flexibility of the back togok was a back up trunk and neck extension test, and then to measure the ability of throw in students that is by applying a throw in ability test. The research data were analyzed using statistical product moment correlation techniques with a significance level of 0.05. Where the results of this study indicate that there is a significant correlation between the flexibility of the back togok with the ability to throw in football games, where rxy = 0.40 r table (0.05: 30) = 0.361 with a coefficient of determination = 0.16 or 16 %.Based on the results of data collection, data processing, and research results obtained and stated previously, it can be concluded that the flexibility of the back togok has a significant correlation with the ability to throw in. Football game, where rxy = 0.40 r table (0.05: 30) = 0.361. With the coefficient of determination = 0, 16 or 16%. While the other 84% is influenced by elements of physical conditions such as: strength, coordination, accuracy, explosive power, balance, and training patterns that are carried out.
