Abstract

This research aims to: 1) determine the effect of applying durian peel bokashi fertilizer on changes in some chemical properties and the growth of tomato plants in Ultisol soil, 2) identify the optimal dosage of durian peel bokashi fertilizer that has an impact on changes in some chemical properties and the growth of tomato plants in Ultisol soil. The study was conducted in Langgea Village, Ranomeeto District. Soil sample analysis was carried out at the Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Halu Oleo University. The research employed a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 5 treatments with 3 replications. The treatments were (B0) without durian peel bokashi fertilizer, (B1) 100 g polybag of bokashi fertilizer, (B2) 200 g polybag of bokashi fertilizer, (B3) 300 g polybag of bokashi fertilizer, and (B4) 400 g polybag of bokashi fertilizer. The results indicated that the application of durian peel bokashi fertilizer influenced the changes in Ultisol soil chemical properties, increasing pH, organic C, total N, available P, and total K in Ultisol soil. The application of durian peel bokashi fertilizer affected the height of the plants and the number of leaves at 28 DAP, 35 DAP, and 42 DAP. Treatment B4 with a dosage of 400g or equivalent to 25 tons ha-1 showed a better impact on increasing the nutrient status of total N (%), available P (ppm), total K (mg/100gr), organic C (%), and pH, as well as the growth of tomato plants in Ultisol soil.
