Abstract

Blood type is a system of grouping blood based on the antigen type. ABO blood group examination is performed to determine the type of blood group in humans. The purpose of this study was to determine the blood group of the ABO system using an Anti-Sera reagent with the slide method. This method is based on the principle of the reaction between agglutinogens (antigens) on the surface of erythrocytes with agglutinins present in serum/plasma that form agglutin or clots. The slide method is simple, fast, and easy for checking blood types. Data analysis was done descriptively. Based on the results of the slide method of blood type examination on students of the Faculty of Public Health, Halu Oleo University, from 79 students it was found that the most blood type was blood type O in as many as 35 people (44.30%), followed by blood type B as many as 21 people (26.58 %), blood type A as many as 18 people (22.79%) and blood type AB as many as 5 people (6.33%).
