Abstract
Diarrhea is a disease characterized by an increase in the frequency of bowel movements more than usual (3 or more per day) and lasts less than 14 days accompanied by changes in the shape and consistency of the stool of the patient. This study aims to determine the relationship between fly density and environmental sanitation with the incidence of diarrhea in settlements around TPI (fish auction place) Kendari city in 2021. This research method uses quantitative research with a cross sectional study approach. The population in this study is the community who live around the Kendari City Fish Auction Place and the determination of the sample size in this study was determined using the sample size formula according to Lemeshow (1990) with a sample size of 96 respondents. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between fly density and the incidence of diarrhea (p-value = 0.000), there is no relationship between the incidence of diarrhea and the provision of clean water (p-value = 0.321), there is no relationship between the use of latrines and the incidence of diarrhea (p-value = 0.321). P-value = 0.168), There is a relationship between the availability of garbage disposal with the incidence of diarrhea (P-value = 0.024), there is a relationship between the sewerage and the incidence of diarrhea (p-value = 0.033)
