ANALYSIS OF CORRELATIONBETWEEN FOOD INTAKE AND NUTRITIONAL STATUS WITH HOSPITALIZATION DURATION OF INTERNA PATIENTS IN RSUD PALAGIMATA BAU-BAU

Abstract

Background: Intensive care for hospitalization patients at hospital for preventing malnutrition and supporting heal proccess is connected with duration lowering of hospitalization. Research Purpose: Object of the study was knowing correlation between food intake, nutritional status, with hospitalization duration of interna patient. Research Method: This Study’s was analytic obsevational with cross sectional design. This sdudy was done in RSUD Palagimata Bau-bau with total samples were 76 patients. Study’s instruments were questionnaire for assessing patient’s hospitalization duration, and body weight and height for assessing patient;s nutritional status. Data were analysed by using Chi-Square Test with p value 0,05. Research Result: Result of the study showed that respondents based on food intake was good in 48 patients (63,16%), low for 28 respondents (36,84%). Respondents based on nutritional status were 66 respondents (86,84%) with overweight and 10 respondents (13,16%) were in risk and based on hospitalization duration were 44 repondents (57,90%) in long duration (4-7 days) and 32 respondents (42,10%) in short duration (1-3 days). ChiSquare test’s result showed that there was correlation between nutritional status with interna patient’s hospitalization duration (p=0,004) but food intake didn’s had correlation (p=0,179). Conclusion: Conclusion of this study showed that food intake didn’t correlated with patient’s hospitalization duration, but nutiritional status correlated with patient’s hospitalization duration in RSUD Palagimata Bau-bau.
