Abstract

COVID-19 is a disease caused by the corona virus that makes pandemics throughout the country, especially Indonesia. Handling and prevention of health protocols has been maximal but not followed by good preventive protocol measures by students. Students have a large number of COVID-19 sufferers. The implementation of the above health protocol is not maximal because it is supported by student non-compliance with the policy. Students have less behavior towards the COVID-19 prevention protocol so that the incidence of COVID-19 is still quite high. The purpose of this study was to find out the factors associated with non-compliance with the COVID-19 prevention protocol in students at Halu Oleo University. The method in this study uses quantitative research design with a cross sectional study approach using proportional random sampling techniques. The research was conducted online through google form. The population in this study is active undergraduate students in 2019-2020 at Halu Oleo University with a large sample of 380 people. Statistical tests using the Chi-square test. The results showed 278 respondents (73,2%) experienced non-compliance, It was found that there was no meaningful relationship between knowledge (p value = 0,089 0,05), instead there was a meaningful relationship between social media use (p value = 0,030 0,05), attitude (p value = 0,022 0,05), social support (p value = 0,013 0,05) and students’ perception of COVID-19 prevention protocols (p value = 0,025 0,05). Student COVID-19 prevention protocols must be carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic
