PENINGKATAN PENGETAHUAN DAN KETERAMPILAN IBU HAMIL, IBU BALITA, DAN KADER POSYANDU DALAM DETEKSI STUNTING SERTA PENENTUAN STATUS GIZI MELALUI EDUKASI KESEHATAN DI KELURAHAN BENUA NIRAE KECAMATAN ABELI KOTA KENDARI

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of growth failure in children under five years old (toddlers) due to chronic malnutrition characterized by their length or height being below the standard. Stunting in toddlers needs to be noticed because it can cause inhibition of physical growth, mental development and health status in children. The results of the initial survey in Benua Nirae Village found that some toddlers did not get exclusive breast milk, there were children whose age was less than six months old who had been given snacks such as sweets and snacks, as well as children who were given complementary food where these things could be the originator of stunting in toddlers. This community service aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of pregnant women, mothers of toddlers, and posyandu cadres in stunting detection and determination of nutritional status to detect and prevent stunting in their toddlers. The method used in service was the educational method in online and offline forms. Education in the form of online was carried out by distributing videos related to stunting on the Youtube account and offline health education for pregnant women and toddlers related to several topics, namely graphs of child growth and development in the Maternal and Child Health book, the benefits of breast milk exclusively, the benefits and planning of the supplementary food menu, the benefits of Ante Natal Care for pregnant women, as well as the calculation of nutritional status in stunting prevention. The results of this community service were pregnant women, mothers of toddlers, and posyandu cadres in understanding and implementing stunting prevention efforts with ANC examinations for pregnant women, exclusive breastfeeding and nutritious complementary foods, and monitoring the growth and development of toddlers to prevent stunting.
