Abstract

Kata Kunci: Museum IPTEK, Arsitektur Hybrid.ABSTRACTThe Museum of Science and Technology (Science Center) is designed with a Hybrid Architecture approach, which seeks tocombine two or more different theories, functions and forms into a new function and form. The elements that are combinedin this study are local architectural forms that are modified and combined with renewable building technology so that theyhave their own distinctive design characteristics. This research is aimed at planning building designs that can describe thecharacter of Hybrid Architecture at the Science Center, as well as planning spaces that can trigger the development ofInnovation and Creativity. This study uses qualitative research methods in the realm of architectural design. Primary datais about the architectural formation of the Tolaki Tribe traditional house and site data. Secondary data is about HybridArchitecture and the Science Center. Data collection techniques were carried out by Literature Studies, StructuredInterviews, and Comparative Studies. The conclusions of this study are as follows: first, the architectural elements of theselected Tolaki Traditional house (roof shape, walls, stage configuration, and ornaments) were modified in shape and thenadapted to the application of the latest building technology such as the construction used, building utilities, and theapplication of advanced exhibition technology. Second, to plan spaces that can trigger the development of innovation andcreativity, it is necessary to arrange internal space elements such as the application of colors, circulation models, spaceachievements, lighting arrangements, presentation of science and technology materials, and the use of dioramas. Keywords: Science Center, Hybrid Architecture.
