Abstract

Kata Kunci:Perpustakaan, Universitas, Arsitektur DekonstruksiABSTRACTUHO library planning is motivated by the needs and functions of libraries as infrastructure for education, research, preservation, information, and recreation to increase the intelligence and empowerment of the nation so that the existenceof libraries is very important and has a big impact on human civilization, especially in the field of education. Over time, theexistence of the UHO library tends to be less attractive and not in accordance with the characteristics of the majority ofusers, namely millennials who like new things, are expressive, interesting and open-minded. Therefore, it is in line with thedesired theme, so the authors take the architectural deconstruction approach. This research is shown to; First, cultivatingthe right footprint of the UHO library with an architectural deconstruction approach; Second, processing the same spacerequirements in the UHO library; Third, apply the principles of architectural deconstruction to the UHO library. Thisresearch uses grounded theory method, the data source consists of primary and secondary data. Data collection techniquesconsisted of observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Based on the results of this research design, it isconcluded as follows; First, the UHO library building applies the principles of centralization so that accessibility is easy;Second, in processing space requirements, the principle of function follow forms is applied, namely space requirementsfollow the shape of the building; Third, the essence of deconstruction architecture and the essence of the library aresynergized to produce a thematic design, namely the genius of strange, which is applied to the shape of the building. Keywords: Libraries, Universities, Architecture of Deconstruction
