PENERAPAN ARSITEKTUR POST MODERN PADA SEKOLAH TINGGI DESAIN MULTIMEDIA DI KOTA KENDARI

Abstract

ABSTRAKFenomena desain multimedia mulai menunjukkan perkembangan di Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara. Disisi lain,masihterbatasnya institusi pendidikan tinggi di bidang desain multimedia di Kota Kendari maka perlu direncanakan sebuahwadah desain berupa Sekolah Tinggi Desain Multimedia yang diharapkan minat dan potensi masyarakat kota Kendari dibidang desain multimedia bisa teraktualisasi. Disaat yang sama, perlu adanya upaya peningkatan kualitas bangunan denganmenerapkan konsep arsitektur Post Modern. Arsitektur Post Modern mempunyai gaya yang hybrid (perpaduan dua unsur)dan bermuka ganda atau sering disebut sebagai double coding. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghadirkan sebuahgambaran Sekolah Tinggi Desain Multimedia berbasis arsitektur Post Modern yang dapat menunjang pengembangan dibidang pendidikan dan penelitian. Adapun penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara dan studi literaturdengan hasil penelitian sebagai berikut: 1.) Dalam merencanakan wadah kegiatan guna menjawab kebutuhan ruang padaSekolah Tinggi Desain Multimedia di Kota Kendari dimulai dari mengidentifikasi pelaku, aktifitas, serta alur kegiatan yangdilakukan dalam bangunan; 2.) Beberapa prinsip arsitektur post modern yang diterapkan pada perancangan sekolah tinggidesain multimedia di Kota Kendari yaitu dengan menerapkan elemen-elemen terbaik yang bersangkutan denganmultimedia yang dijadikan sebagai objek pada desain yang kemudian di gabungkan dengan gaya arsitektur post modernsehingga tercipta gaya baru.Kata kunci: Multimedia, post modern, Kendari.ABSTRACTThe phenomenon of multimedia design has arise in Southeast Sulawesi Province.. On the other hand,higher education institutions in the field of multimedia design in Kendari City is very limited, thus it isnecessary to plan a design forum in the form of a Multimedia Design College which is expected to actualizethe interest and potential of Kendari city people in the field of multimedia design. At the same time, there is aneed for efforts to improve the quality of buildings by applying the Post Modern architectural concept. PostModern architecture has ahybrid style (combination of two elements) and double-faced or often referred asdouble coding. The purpose of this research is to present an overview of Post Modern Architecture-basedMultimedia Design Colleges which can support development in the field of education and research. Thisresearch uses observation, interview and literature study research methods with the following results: 1.) Inplanning a forum for activities to answer space needs at the Multimedia Design College in Kendari City, itstarts from identifying actors, activities, and the flow of activities carried out in the building; 2.) Some of theprinciples of post modern architecture that are applied to the design of multimedia design high schools inKendari City are by applying the best elements related to multimedia which are used as objects in the designwhich are then combined with post modern architectural styles to create a new style.Keywords: Multimedia, post modern, Kendari.
