Abstract

This research aims to explore traces of Dutch heritage in Abepura which has important historical value, especially in understanding the dynamics of colonialism in Papua as a learning resource in the FKIP History Education Study Program at Cenderawasih University. Abepura has a number of Dutch colonial historical remains in the form of buildings, sites, as well as artifacts that reflect Dutch influence during the colonial period This research discusses the relevance of historical heritage as a learning resource in the context of history education by focusing on how local historical objects can be used to increase students' understanding of the history of colonialism in Indonesia, especially in Papua. It is hoped that the results of this research can contribute to the development of curriculum and history learning methods that are more contextual and connected to the richness of local history, as well as strengthening a more comprehensive historical insight for history education students.
