Abstract
The aim of this research was to determine biodegradability of bioplastic making of Caraageenan. The carrageenan extracted from red seaweed from Biak island. Variables analyzed in this research were the water content, the weight decreasing, solubility in water and colour. Research showed that caragenaan bioplastic was soluble in water. It is very degradable in soil. In room temperature, bioplastic was relatively slow in degradation process. Keywords: carrageenan, bioplastic, degradability
