Abstract

community behavior playing an important role in prevention and management. This study aimed to describe malaria prevention and management behaviors among communities in the working area of Arso Barat Health Center. A quantitative descriptive study with a cross-sectional design was conducted from June to September 2025 involving 180 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed descriptively. Of the respondents, 93 (51.7%) demonstrated good malaria prevention and management behaviors, while 87 (48.3%) demonstrated poor behaviors. Most respondents were aged 19–59 years (85.6%), female (62.8%), had completed senior high school (53.3%), and were farmers (42.2%); 93.9% had a history of malaria. These findings indicate that malaria-related behaviors remain suboptimal. Strengthening action-oriented health education, consistent bed-net use, protection during outdoor activities, early diagnosis, treatment adherence, and family- and community-based monitoring is recommended to improve malaria control.
