Abstract

English

Abstract Time respone efficiency is key in the implementation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) across various applications such as navigation, mapping, and location search. This research compares the time respone efficiency of the euclidean, haversine, and manhattan formulas in conducting data searches across different radius variations. The methodology involves the collection and analysis of data generated from implementing these three formulas within a GIS. The data analyzed includes the time taken to complete data search queries across varying radii. Statistical analysis reveals that the manhattan formula achieves a 6.75% increase in time efficiency compared to euclidean, while haversine and euclidean collects 68.8% more data compared to manhattan, showing distinct time respone characteristics dependent on the radius used. It was found that the choice of method depends on the specific priorities of each application. This study provides insights into the advantages and disadvantages of each method in the context of time respone in GIS, offering valuable information for GIS application development, particularly in selecting the most effective distance calculation method according to the specific needs of the application.
