The Karnika Mandiri Sejahtera Producers Cooperative was formed to end the ijon system and provide more stable prices for coconut sugar farmers. Farmers still face obstacles, including dependence on cooperatives, limited capital, and limited use of modern technology in coconut sugar production. This study aims to: 1) Examine farmer independence in coconut sugar production, and 2) Identify factors that influence farmer independence in coconut sugar production. This study uses a quantitative approach, with purposive sampling at the Karnika Mandiri Sejahtera Producers Cooperative and a sample of 55 farmers selected through proportional quota sampling. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation, recording, and documentation. Data analysis used multiple linear regression. The results of the study show that 44% of farmers are in the high category of independence, and the factors that influence independence are coconut sugar production experience (53% in the high category), government support (35% in the low category), and cooperative leadership (45% in the low category). Production experience and cooperative leadership had significant positive associations with farmer independence, whereas government support had a significant negative association. It is recommended that coconut sugar production technology be provided, digital literacy training be conducted, farmer motivation be increased, and the quality of cooperative leadership be strengthened in order to support farmer independence.
