This study analyzes the influence of supply chain management and financial literacy on the performance of agribusiness-based Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in Gorontalo Regency, Indonesia. In addition, the study investigates whether financial literacy functions as a mediating factor in the relationship between supply chain management and BUMDes performance. The research applied a quantitative explanatory approach using primary data from 30 managers or appointed representatives of active agribusiness-oriented BUMDes. Data were collected through questionnaires, complemented by observations and interviews, and analyzed using multiple linear regression and path analysis with SPSS. The findings indicate that supply chain management has a positive and significant relationship with BUMDes performance. Financial literacy also shows a positive and significant relationship with BUMDes performance. Simultaneously, these two variables explain 74.8% of the variation in BUMDes performance (R² = 0.748), with an adjusted R² of 0.729. Nevertheless, the indirect effect of supply chain management on BUMDes performance through financial literacy is not significant at the 5% level (p = 0.057). Thus, the evidence supporting the mediating role of financial literacy remains insufficient at the 5% significance level and should be interpreted cautiously. The findings imply that improving BUMDes performance requires parallel reinforcement of supply chain practices and financial management capacity. This study enriches the rural enterprise literature by emphasizing the need to integrate operational and financial capabilities to support the sustainability of agribusiness-based BUMDes.
