Abstract
ABSTRACT Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is one of the staple crops in Indonesia. The low productivity of rice in Indonesia has not reached its harvest potential. As an effort to increase rice production, community service activities (PKM) are carried out which are one way to downstream the results of university research. PKM activities are carried out in the form of training which aims to provide new knowledge and technology to farmers, so as to increase crop production and raise the standard of living of farmers to become more prosperous in terms of the economy. The training participants as partners of this service activity were the Mangngu'rangi Farmer Group, Manjapai Village, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The training was conducted in July 2024. Training methods included lectures, discussions, hands-on demonstrations, and demonstration plots. The yield on the demonstration plot showed an increase in production of 7.5 tons/ha compared to the production before the training where farmers produced 6.5 tons/ha of rice. Participants were very enthusiastic and ready to apply this technology. This training is expected to strengthen farmers' ability to adopt organic fertilizer technology and increase rice production by 1 ton/ha. Keywords: Increased production, organic fertilizer, community service.
