Abstract
ABSTRACT Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in Indonesia’s economy, including in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi. However, the rapid growth of MSMEs has not been accompanied by adequate financial literacy, particularly in calculating the Cost of Goods Manufactured (COGM). Many MSME actors determine selling prices based on estimates without considering all production cost components, which risks causing unrecognized losses. This community service program aimed to improve MSMEs’ literacy in calculating COGM as a basis for more accurate and sustainable pricing decisions. The methods used included interactive lectures, discussions, practical exercises, case studies based on participants’ real business data, and continuous mentoring. The program involved 30 MSME participants from various sectors and was conducted at the Integrated Business Service Center (PLUT) of Maros Regency on November 7, 2025. The results indicate an improvement in participants’ understanding of identifying production cost components, calculating COGM per unit, comprehending the Break-Even Point (BEP) concept, and setting selling prices based on COGM. Participants also became more aware of the importance of systematic financial recording and separating personal and business finances. Overall, this program contributed to strengthening MSMEs’ cost management capacity and supporting their business sustainability.
