Abstract
Kata kunci: DiGiFarming, Internet of Things (IoT), Organisme pengganggu tanaman, Pertanian presisi. ABSTRACT The management of plant pests and diseases in rice cultivation still faces various challenges, primarily because most farmers still rely on conventional observation methods, which can lead to delays in detecting pest and disease outbreaks. This situation is also evident among the Wija Paggalung Millennial Farmers’ Community in Baranti Subdistrict, Sidenreng Rappang Regency. This community service initiative aims to implement DiGiFarming technology as a sensor-based tool for monitoring environmental conditions and to enhance farmers’ capacity in utilizing digital technology for rice pest and disease management. The implementation method employed a participatory approach, which included coordinating with and identifying partners’ needs, conducting technology outreach and demonstrations, deploying DiGiFarming devices, providing guidance on system usage, and evaluating the activities. The results of the project show that DiGiFarming technology was successfully implemented on partner farms and is capable of providing real-time environmental data through a digital monitoring dashboard. Outreach activities, demonstrations, and mentoring received positive feedback from participants and enhanced farmers’ understanding of precision agriculture concepts, the functions of environmental sensors, and the use of digital data to support crop management decisions. In addition, participants demonstrated improved digital literacy and interest in the application of Internet of Things (IoT)-based agricultural technology. The implementation of DiGiFarming has the potential to become a key strategy in supporting agricultural transformation toward a more modern, adaptive, efficient, and sustainable farming system. Keywords: DiGiFarming, Internet of Things (IoT), plant pests, precision agriculture.
