Penerapan Algoritma Kompresi Lempel Ziv Welch (LZW) Pada Penyimpanan Dokumen Pembelajaran Berbasis Cloud Computing

Abstract

Pengetahuan tentang cloud computing memberikan informasi tentang definisi, arsitektur, danmodel layanan yang dimilikinya. Isu utama cloud computing saat ini adalah efisiensi dan kelincahansistemnya. Oleh sebab itu, penggunaan cloud computing sangat penting terutama untuk menyimpandata penting dengan aman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan tentang manfaat dasarteknologi cloud computing bagi guru, serta pentingnya dalam pekerjaan sehari-hari, seperti menyimpanmateri pembelajaran dan tugas siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan guru berhasil menggunakan cloudcomputing sebagai media penyimpanan dalam pembelajaran di kelas dan tidak mengalami kesulitan.Sistem ini menerapkan algoritma kompresi Lempel Ziv Welch (LZW) untuk mengurangi ukuran fileyang tersimpan di web server. Algoritma ini bekerja dengan menggantikan fragmen teks menggunakanindeks dari kamus. Pengujian sistem melibatkan dua metode: pertama,pengujian kompresi file denganalgoritma LZW untuk memperkecil ukuran file tanpa mengurangi kualitasnya; kedua, pengujian blackbox untuk memastikan sistem berfungsi sesuai harapan. Penerapan algoritma ini juga mempermudahguru dalam mengunggah file ke cloud storage. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan rasio kompresi rata-rata sebesar 59,16% untuk file *.pdf Knowledge of cloud computing provides information about its definition, architecture, andservice model. The main issue of cloud computing today is the efficiency and agility of the system.Therefore, the use of cloud computing is very important especially for storing important data safely.The purpose of this research is to provide knowledge about the basic benefits of cloud computingtechnology for teachers, as well as its importance in daily work, such as storing learning materials andstudent assignments. The results show that teachers can successfully use cloud computing as a storagemedium in classroom learning and experience no difficulties. The system applies the Lempel Ziv Welch(LZW) compression algorithm to reduce the size of files stored on the web server. This algorithm worksby replacing text fragments using indexes from the dictionary. System testing involves two methods:first, file compression testing with the LZW algorithm to reduce file size without reducing its quality;second, black box testing to ensure the system functions as expected. The application of this algorithmalso makes it easier for teachers to upload files to cloud storage. The test results show an averagecompression ratio of 59.16% for *.pdf files.
