FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI MINAT MAHASISWA MENGIKUTI PENDIDIKAN PROFESI AKUNTAN (PPA)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendapatkan bukti empiris mengenai faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi minat mahasiswa mengikuti Pendidikan Profesi Akuntan (PPA). Variabel yang dianggap mempengaruhi minat mahasiswa mengikuti Pendidikan Profesi Akuntan (PPA) adalah (1) Pengalaman kerja, (2) Pendidikan sebelumnya, (3) Biaya peluang, (4) Gender, (5) Persepsi tentang Profesi Akuntan, (6) Persepsi tentang undang-undang Akuntan Publik. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 100 mahasiswa jurusan akuntansi dan manajemen dari empat perguruan tinggi di Semarang (UNDIP, UNNES, UDINUS, UNISSULA). Sampel diperoleh menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui kuesioner dianalisis menggunakan regresi logistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan variabel pengalaman kerja, biaya peluang, gender, dan persepsi tentang undang-undang akuntan publik berpengaruh secara signifikan. Sedangkan dua variabel lain, yaitu pendidikan sebelumnya dan persepsi tentang profesi akuntan tidak memiliki pengaruh secara signifikan. Simpulan penelitian menunjukkan minat mahasiswa mengikuti Pendidikan Profesi Akuntan (PPA) akan meningkat tanpa adanya pengalaman kerja dengan biaya peluang yang tinggi, serta persepsi yang baik tentang undang-undang akuntan publik. Saran terkait penelitian ini adalah tenaga akuntan pendidik dapat lebih memberikan pengetahuan tentang profesi akuntan terhadap mahasiswanya agar tertarik untuk mengikuti PPA. The goals of this research to analyze and get empirical evidence about factors influence scholar enthusiasm to follow Education of Accountant Profession. The variable which assumed influence of scholar enthusiasm to follow Education of Accountant Profession are (1) work experience, (2) previous learning, (3) opportunity cost, (4) gender, (5) perception about accountant profession, (6) perception about law of public accountant. This research used 100 schoolar major of accountancy and management from four college in Semarang (UNDIP, UNNES, UDINUS, UNISSULA). Samples were obtained using purposive sampling technique. The research data got by questionar analyzed used logistic regression. The result of this research are work experience variable, opportunity cost, gender, and perception about law of public accountant had an effect on significantly. While two other variable, are previous learning and perception about accountant profession had not an effect on significantly. The conclusion of this research are scholar enthusiasm to follow Education of Accountant Profession will increase without existence of work experience with the high of opportunity cost, also the good perception about the law of public accountant. The advice related this research is the energy of accountant education could more give knowlage about accountant profession to scholar so that interest to follow Education of Accountant Profession.
