Abstract

Abstract The aims of this study are to describe the misrepresentation phenomes in French and the similarity of mispronunciation that related to them by students from 6 countries. In addition, the study is a qualitative descriptive with 6 students from 6 countries as the subject. The object is the incorrect French phonemes pronunciation carried out by the students. To look at the results of this study, the authors collected data through transcripts of students' conversations taken from YouTube videos. The result of this analysis is almost all types of phonemes are mispronounced by 6 students from 6 countries who are doing delf A1 and A2 exams. The most mispronunciation were made by student who took the delf A1 exam than student who took the delf A2 exam. It is possible that students made a lot of mistakes because they were still at level A1. The similarity of the phonemes pronunciation that are pronounced by students from 6 countries almost occurs on each type of phonemes, but the most mispronunciation by students from 6 countries is an error in pronunciation on the phonem [z] and [ʒ] phonem. Almost all students make the same mispronunciation on the font of the consonants. It's probably cause the phoneme is difficult to pronounce and there are special rules in French pronuncation.
