Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of skipping exercises and going up and down stairs on the vertical jump height of volleyball athletes at Tunas Tegal Club. The method used in this study is experimental, with a "two group pre-test post-test design" design. The sample was divided into 2 groups, namely the skipping group and the up and down stairs group. The population in this study were all volleyball athletes at the Tunas Tegal club, which amounted to 14 athletes. The results of this study indicate that: (1) There is an effect of Skipping exercise, with the value of Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < less than the significant level of 0.05, then the results of the hypothesis decision are accepted. (2) There is the effect of training up and down stairs with sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 with a significant level of <0.05, then the results of the hypothesis decision are accepted. (3) There is a difference between skipping exercise and up and down stairs with sig. (2-tailed) of 0.002 with a significant level of <0.05, then the results of the hypothesis decision are accepted. Based on the post-test average obtained, skipping exercise is 38.85 and up and down stairs exercise is 36.14. The conclusion in this study is that skipping exercises are very good for athletes to use during training, and this skipping exercise is more effective for success in vertical jump heights, especially for volleyball athletes at the Tunas Tegal club.
