Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop assessment of student’s psychomotor instruments in speaking class in senior high school (SHS). Mix method is used and modified into two stages, namely the preliminary and development. Data collection is done through interviews and observation, the data legality with triangulation. Quantitative data collection tool uses validation of 3 Experts analyzed using Aiken’s V, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), the reliability using Cronbach Alpha and the practicality using a simple quantitative test. The validity of instruments shows ≥ 0.30, that the whole items is valid. Validity in small scale test using power differential shows there are 15 items declared valid. The broad scale testing KMO value 0.788 (> 0.50). Based on the factor loadings 15 items have a value > 0.50 then the whole item is valid. The results of the reliability test on a small scale 0.651 and on vast scale test 0.769. Practicality test shows that a very practical. The development of speaking handbook is purposed for English teacher in SHS. The conclusion is that the instrument developed has a good validity, reliability and practicality, therefore it can be used as an assessment of student’s speaking psychomotor instruments in SHS.
