PENGEMBANGAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS REAL WORLD UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP DAN KETERAMPILAN GENERIK SAINS SISWA

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian  ini termasuk dalam  jenis penelitian  pengembangan  yang  bertujuan untuk mengasilkan sebuah model pembelajaran yang didasarkan pada dunia nyata lingkungan sekitar siswa. Tujuan lain studi pengembangan  ini adalah sebagai bagian dari usaha untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran khususnya di SMP N 3 Bandar Kabupaten Batang dengan jalan melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Hasil analisis terhadap temuan lapangan yang meliputi hasil tes kemampuan awal dan akhir menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis real-world dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep. Akan tetapi hasil uji gain dari nilai pre tes dan post tes menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan tersebut termasuk dalam kategori rendah. Sementara hasil tes kemampuan awal dan akhir menunjukan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis real-world dapat meningkatkan keterampilan generik siswa. Berdasarkan uji gain yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan tersebut termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Hasil pengamatan pelaksanaan pembelajaran menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis real- world dapat diterapkan dengan baik.AbstractOftentimes, students have been not able to understand and prove that all what they learn are based on the environment surroundings them; nature. According to the case, it needs developing a learning model based on environments real world which the process totally involves the students in order to raise the quality of learning. This research is classified in a research and developing that purposely to create a product and to discern the result of developing the product in particular at junior high school. The analysis result of finding including the result of pre- test and post-test shows that learning model based on real world is able to improve conceptual understanding. Nevertheless, the result of gain test taken from pre-test and post-test grades shows that its percentage is categorized low. Whereas, the pre-test and post-test result shows that learning model based on real world is able to improve student’s generic skills. The result of the learning observation shows real world based learning is well accomplished
