Abstract
Pada akhir perte- muan dilakukan postes untuk memperoleh data peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif dan surveiyang jauh lebih besar daripada kelompok kontrol yang hanya 10,89%.AbstractThis study aims to describe the contradictions in people’s daily activities and the concepts of heat and temperature, determine whether problem-based learning (PBL) by analyzing the contradictions can improve physics learning outcomes, and to know whether this learning model can reduce percentage of  the contradictions of  the students.  The study begins with a preliminary survey of  community activities that allegedly contains a mismatch with the concept of heat and temperature, qualitative descriptive analysis to find contradictions, and the pre-test to get the data of initial concepts understanding of the experimental group and the control group. The next stage is to prepare the instruments and implement PBL for the expe- rimental group, and conventional learning to control group.  Post-test, final survey was con- ducted to obtain the data of learning outcomes and contradictions percentage.  PBL through the contradictions analysis can improve learning outcomes. It can be seen in the high level of experimental group scores, whereas for the control group was categorized as moderate. The learning model can also decrease the contradiction of student daily activities. This is indi- cated by a decrease in the percentage of the experimental group contradictions which is much greater than that of the control group.
